Orange Beak Studio was born from a desire to share knowledge and offer insight into on the world of publishing and children’s books.

We work with people at all stages of their creative career - from those that are brand new to it all, those that are at the early stages of their career or just graduated, to those that are established illustrators and authors. Orange Beak is here to support and enable creatively ambitious clients to move forwards with their goals.

Maisie co-founded Orange Beak Studio, alongside Ness Wood, in 2017.

Orange Beak facilitate one-to-one online tutorials across illustration, design, story, and fiction, with a host of expert industry professionals.

Online evening talks

Talks with illustrators and industry professionals, that cover all facets of illustration and picture books.

Workshops

Orange Beak offers a wide range of workshops, including character design, colour, composition and cover design.

In our Picture Book Club, hosted on Patreon, we have exclusive interviews, tips briefs and our monthly group crit.

Orange Beak children’s book retreat

Our annual inspirational, creative, fun and informative week – where all of the content provided is aimed at participants of all levels.
